Stegosaurus was a medium-large, plant-eating dinosaur that lived approximately 150 million years ago. It lived in what is now North America during the Jurassic period.
One of this dinosaurs distinctive features was the two rows of plates along its back. Its plates may have been used to intimate predators, by making the animal appear larger. It also sported for spikes on the end of its tail, which is known as a thagomizer.
Stegosaurus grew to up to 9 metres (30 feet) long.
This dinosaur was a herbivore. Its toothless beak and peg-like teeth were well tuned for breaking down vegetation. It also had cheeks, which enabled it to chew on a variety of plant matter; Including bushes, shrubs, ferns, and fruit.
