There is debate as to whether Giraffatitan was the same animal as Brachiosaurus. The two species look very similar. While Brachiosaurus has been discovered in North America, Giraffatitan’s remains have been found in Africa.

It sported a long neck like a giraffe, and its forelegs were longer than its hind legs. Giraffatitan was also considered the largest dinosaur, however this title has been passed on to Argentinosaurus.

An individual Giraffatitan may have grown up to 22.5 metres long and 12 metres tall.
